Weekly Schedule

No Cost – No Registration. Registration is not required to participate in any IMC’s weekly event. There is no cost for any of our programs, though we are grateful for donations to support our activities and teachers.

Sessions usually start with silent, seated meditation, followed by a dharma talk (talk on Buddhist teachings and practice).  Everyone is welcome.

Sunday Morning Sittings and Talk

8:30 to 10:45 am
Alternating sitting and walking meditation. Led by Gil Fronsdal or occasional guest teachers. You may attend any part of the morning.

8:30 – 9:10 am Sitting meditation
9:10 – 9:25 am Walking meditation
9:25 – 10:00 am Sitting meditation
10:00 – 10:45 am Dharma talk
  • Vegetarian Potluck Brunch—Last Sunday of month at 11am.  All are welcome!
  • Sunday Community Tea—2nd Sunday of month at 11am.

Sunday Evening

At Home in the World: Dharma for People in their 20s and 30s

7:30 – 9:00 pm on Sunday Evenings (except the 2nd Sunday of each month); on Zoom
Led by Max Erdstein and occasional guest teachers, At Home in the World is an ongoing dharma practice group addressing themes relevant to people in their 20s and 30s. It includes guided meditations, dharma talks, small and large group discussions and social interaction. Each Sunday we have a mix of returning, regular members and new attendees. Those at any level of practice experience are very welcome.

Monday Evening Sitting and Talk

7:30 to 9:00 pm; in person and streaming on YouTube
A 45-minute silent sitting is followed by a 45-minute dharma talk. Led by Diana Clark, Gil Fronsdal or occasional guest teachers.

Monday thru Friday Evenings – Happy Hour: Practicing Loving-Kindness

6:00 to 7:00 pm; on Zoom
Join us for an hour of gladdening the mind and heart! In these weekly offerings, we will explore gentle and gradual cultivation and expansion of heart practices, which are known to be both supportive for mindfulness practice and transformative in their own right. Our hour together will start with a brief introduction to the week’s topic, followed by a 30-minute guided meditation and conclude with a discussion and a question and answer period. All are welcome. Tuesday Morning Sitting and Talk

9:30 to 11:00 am; on Zoom
A 35-minute sitting is followed by a talk with time for questions. Led by Andrea Fella or occasional guest teachers.

Tuesday Evening, Dharma in Spanish: Meditative Movement, Sitting and Talk

6:00 to 7:30 pm
A 30-minute meditative movement session is followed by a 30-minute sitting and a talk with time for questions. Beginners may come at 6:30 pm for meditation instructions. Led by Andrea Castillo or occasional guest teachers.  See more information at Dharma en Español.

Martes en la noche, Dharma en Español: Movimiento Meditativo, Meditación y Plática

6:00 to 7:30 pm
30 minutos de movimiento meditativo, seguida por 30 minutos de meditación y una plática con tiempo para preguntas. Principiantes pueden venir a las 6:30 pm para recibir instrucciones para la meditación. Dirigido por Andrea Castillo o en ocasiones por maestros visitantes.  Dharma en Español

Wednesday Morning Half-Day Retreat

9:30 am to 12:15 pm; in person at IMC
Alternating sitting and walking meditation. Led by Gil Fronsdal or occasional guest teachers. You may attend any part of the morning. 15-min practice discussions are available by sign-up when led by Gil Fronsdal and occasionally other teachers. Bring lunch for informal discussion afterward.

Dharma Practice Thursdays — Bringing the Dharma to Life in Community

6:30 to 8:00 pm; in person at IMC
led by Tanya Wiser and guest teachers

Join us on Thursdays for in-depth exploration of various Dharma topics. See the IMC calendar for the current topic.  The format of Dharma Practice Thursday includes sharing reflections on our practice the previous week; a guided meditation; a short dharma talk; discussions in small groups; and finally sharing with all participants. The group discussions focus on the evening’s dharma topic, and provide ample opportunity to ask questions. Suitable for beginners and experienced beginners (i.e., anyone with an ongoing meditation practice, no matter how long).
