Buddhism and yoga share the intention of training the body, mind and heart in awareness, wisdom and compassion. Hatha yoga is a meditation practice in its own right, and it is also a beneficial preparation for seated meditation. Yoga helps focus and calm the mind, enhances breath and overall body awareness, and develops the physical flexibility and strength which help us to sit in meditation with greater ease.
Suitable for all levels. You don’t need to be flexible to do yoga, or have a particular body type. You only need to be as you are. Yoga is about listening to your body, and compassionately and wisely respecting your capabilities.
Thursday Morning In-Person Yoga (9:00 am – 10:30 am)
Each session uses a variety of asanas (poses) to focus and calm the mind, enhance breath and overall awareness, and develop flexibility, balance and strength. Beginners are always welcome. The class is a mixed level and everyone is encouraged to work in accordance with their own needs and abilities. Bring a large towel and sticky mat, if you have one.
