The Black-Identified Mindfulness Circle is for people who identify as Black, African, or African-American. We will come together to meditate in two sessions to reflect on the past year, embrace the present, and set intentions for the future. Our collective wisdom will allow us to reconnect, acknowledge and celebrate who we are as practitioners. We will sit in community to support each other’s practice off and on the cushion, and affirm our resiliency and vulnerabilities amidst impermanence.

Our first session will offer a supportive container to share wisdom gained this past year through our successes and challenges. This session will encourage reflection in a non-judgmental way to accept what has transpired.

The second session is designed to recognize our strengths and move forward with our intentions, and to do so mindfully with compassion for ourselves and others.

Sessions will include meditation, instruction, reflective exercises and discussion, and are suitable for practitioners at all levels.
