3/31-4/28: Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation with Ying Chen

Description: On Zoom: Basic instructions in mindfulness meditation are taught sequentially in this 5-week course. The course starts with mindfulness of breathing, followed by mindfulness of the body, emotions, and thinking, and concludes with a discussion on concentration and the application of mindfulness in daily life.  Each class has opportunities for Q&A with teachers.
This course is taught by Ying Chen. The weekly handouts for the course are available here.Ying Chen’s biography:Ying Chen was born in China and came to the US when she was in college. She was exposed to Mahayana Buddhism around 1998. Since 2001, she was drawn to the Theravada tradition through sutta studies with Shaila Catherine and other Chinese dharma teachers and practitioners. Since 2005, she has been practicing primarily under the guidance of Gil Fronsdal. Ying is a graduate of the Sati Center Chaplaincy program and Local Dharma Leader program from Insight Meditation Center led by Andrea Fella and Gil Fronsdal. She currently facilitates the Insight Meditation Center support group for people living with illness, and co-facilitates the Asian Dharma Circle in IMC with Lilu Chen, and volunteers at Insight Meditation Center.
