Support Group (A) for Those Experiencing Chronic Health Challenges

Every Wednesday, 3:30 - 5:00 pm

Support Group (B) for Those Experiencing Life-Threatening Illnesses

Every Wednesday, 1:30 - 3:00 pm

Support Group (C) for Caregivers

Every Monday except the first Monday of each month, 6:00 - 7:30 pm, conference room


Meetings of all three groups include brief sittings and consideration of pertinent Dharma topics, but the primary purpose of each group is to provide each participant an opportunity to share personal challenges, triumphs, hopes, and fears with individuals facing a similar situation.

  • (A & B) facilitated by Mick Bennett
    Mick Bennett, Ph.D., is a retired psychotherapist (though these will not be therapy groups) who has worked with the Zen Hospice Project since 2002, is a graduate of the Sati Center Chaplaincy Training Program, and is a member of IMC's Chaplaincy Council. Mick underwent surgery for prostate cancer last year and catheter ablation for heart arrhythmias earlier this year.

  • (C) facilitated by Rob Rossel
    Rob Rossel, Ph.D., is a retired psychotherapist (though this will not be a therapy group) who works as a volunteer counselor at Kara Grief Counseling Center in Palo Alto, is a graduate of the Sati Center Chaplaincy Training Program, and has served as a caretaker in various capacities. Rob underwent open heart surgery in 2005 to replace a valve damaged by endocarditis.
