Dharma Friends encourages spiritually-based friendships and a sense of community in our sangha. All sangha members are welcome to our events and may bring friends. We organize various activities such as hikes, music-jams, poetry readings, back-packing trips, and movie nights.

Family Program

The Family Program offers an array of ongoing and special events suitable for children and families.

Potlucks

There is a potluck brunch at 11:00 am on the last Sunday of each month, following the regular Sunday morning program. Everyone is welcome to this informal gathering of sangha friends. Contact Di or Dave Tatro (650) 595-4260.

Buying or Selling Your Home

If you're buying or selling your home, sangha member and retired real-estate broker, Carol Collins, will negotiate a reduced brokerage fee for you, and contribute her entire finder's fee to IMC. For information contact Carol (408) 354-5893. Flier

Temple Cleaning/Gardening

First and third Sundays of the month, 11:00 to 11:15 am. As part of integrating practice in daily life, we encourage sangha members to participate in our semi-monthly temple cleaning. Spend 15 minutes mindfully keeping our Center clean inside and out.

Volunteer

All the work that keeps IMC running smoothly is done by volunteers. Volunteering is an opportunity to participate and to meet other sangha members.

Email Lists

You can subscribe to two email lists; Insight-Announce to receive and send announcements of interest to the sangha, and Insight Forum for skillful open-ended discussion.

IMC Library

Donating Books: Book donations are welcome. We are mainly accepting books on Buddhism and selected books from other spiritual traditions, as well as audio and videotapes. Place them in the large Book Donation box in the library. If you would like a book returned to you should it not be accepted for our collection, please put a sheet with your name, phone and email inside the front cover of the book. Otherwise books that we do not accept will be taken to Book Buyers in Mountain View to get book credits for the library.

Donating your Book Buyers Credits: If you have credits at Book Buyers in Mountain View that you wish to donate to our library, please tell them to give credit to Insight Meditation Center.

Borrowing Books: You may borrow books from the library. However, please be conscientious about returning them to the Book Return box in a timely manner (within 4 weeks).

Sangha Yellow Pages

We regularly receive requests: does anyone know a good acupuncturist? A carpenter? An electrician? An internist? If you have a service you would like to promote to others in the sangha, please fill out a provider sheet and put it in the relevant section of the Sangha Yellow Pages binder.
